When shooting your photographs for each assignment you need to make sure you follow ALL the rules.

You cannot go into a classroom with students present

You cannot be loud and interrupt classes (avoid going by the classrooms period)

You can go outside but must stay on campus

You must be respectful

You must make sure all photos are school appropriate in content

Design Chess Pieces for a Game
In this lesson, students will continue to learn how to create shapes based on a basic image to create their Chess pieces for their games.

LT: I can extrude a cylinder. I can use edit mode to extrude and change shape of an image.
Practice: Create a Pawn
LT: I can create a basic pawn shape.
Make a Scene
LT: I can add in a camera and lights
In this video, students will learn how to add in a camera and lights to create a scene
Turn in Rendered Image to Pawn Render
Make a Rook
LT: I can extrude and inset to create new parts of a shape
Students will create a rook game piece by using the extrusion tool and the inset tool to make the top of the rook.

Create the Knight
LT: I can create a shape using extrude, move, scale. I can extrude parts of the shape

Assignment 1: Create Your Own Chess Pieces
LT: I can use what I have learned to create my own chess pieces for my game
In this next step of the class, students can design their own chess game. Using the assingment in Classroom to help design your own chess games, select your theme, draw out a rough outline of the pieces or submit an image for each of the 6 pieces you have to create. Once the design is approved, start to build each piece in Blender. Once you have the 6 pieces created in Blender, add in a camera and a light in order to render an image of all 6 pieces

Assignment 2: Create the Game & Game Board
LT: I can create a scene using the chess pieces I have created and make a game board
Next, students will duplicate the chess pieces to create their game according to the image in Google Classroom. Students need to have 2 different materials for the opposing sides. Side A will be one material and Side B will be a different material. Make sure you have good lighting before rendering and turning in your image.

Assignment 3: Create the File for 3D printing
LT: I can create a file to 3D print my chess pieces
Time to 3D print. In this lesson students will create an STL file to upload to a slicing program for 3D printing. Students will learn how to size and create the 3D print file in a program like Cura or Creality Slicer. Once the items are sliced, students will download the file, put on a micro SD card for printing on the 3D printer in class.
