LT: I can identify different camera movements. I can use different camera movements in my video, I can edit a video to make it look like it is moving. I can use Key framing.
WHAT ARE CAMERA MOVEMENTS?
In the last lesson, students learned about the creative camera angles used in film. These angles are a great tool to have, but camera movements can make your video even more interesting. Nowadays, as we watch videos and movies, the cameras are moving more and more. Some cameras are not even kept steady. Instead, directors are using the shaky camera to help tell their stories.
For this project, students will create their own video using all the creative camera angles. Each angle will need to be labeled correctly.
Here is another video to watch that will show the camera angles in action and how they were used in a video.
Camera Movement Presentation
Assignment
Students will create a video that uses all the camera movements learned in class. Students will use two steady shots to fake movement through editing. Students will use the Text tool to add in a text graphic with the name of each movement. Students will continue to use the 4 main shots and camera angles during filming. Students will edit their video using Adobe Premiere. Students are still learning to edit, so don't expect any fancy effects to be added to help tell your story. Lastly, students will add in transitions, effects, and music to enhance their video.
