LT: I can identify different careers in film. I can identify different careers in TV and Film. I can make a short documentary about a film. I can research a career.
Careers in Film
Lots of times, people do not pay attention to the credits at the end of a movie - unless it is Marvel and you are waiting for the "End Credit Scenes". But if you look a the credits, you will realize there are a lot of people that work on a Movie. Not only are there a lot of jobs for movies, but also for TV, YouTube, Car companies, news stations, colleges, sports teams, etc. We consume more media today than ever before. This week we are going to look at a few of these careers
For this assignment students will research a career and create a short video or presentation on a TV career from the list provided. You will include specific information about the career as well as videos or photos. Your video should be 1-2 min in length. A presentation should have 8 slides of videos and photos - no words. In both cases, please cite your sources for information. Make sure to film as if you were still in my class, safely!
Main Film/TV Careers
For this project, you will create a short informational video on a career. Click on the button below to choose a career. Once someone signs up for the career no one else can.
Once you know what career you will be creating a video on, you will need to research information to use throughout the video. You will add this information to your shot outline and then find videos and images that go with what you are talking about.
Make sure to choose a career that interests you and one you can find information on. You can use Pexels or Pixabay for video clips and photos for your career as I don't expect you to go out and be a stuntman or creature make up artist. But you can choose to film your own.

Research your own Career using the Career Research Document and the Film Career Finder Link
After completing the shot list and doing your research, you will need to start gathering videos or filming. Look for photos that relate to the slides using Pixabay or Pexels or begin to film the clips you need.

Guidelines for Filming your own video
-
If you film, film with phone sideways.
-
Use multiple shots and angles
-
Have a steady camera
-
Get close
-
Use good audio if someone is speaking
Guidlines for Using Pixabay or Pexels
Choose videos/images that support your carrer and what you are talking about. If they do not have a certain video, you may need to film it yourself. The videos selected should be school appropriate. Download videos that are 1920 x 1280. If you use videos at a higher quality you will be taking up a lot of space on your devide.
Editing the video
Before adding videos to the timeline, add in your narration track. This is either a video or audio file.
Video File- set up your camera to record while you talk. The image doesn't matter as it will be covered up or the opacity will be reduced.
Audio File - record a voice over in Adobe Premiere, Rush or WeVideo, or use an app on your phone such as Voice Memos or Voice Record. Any of these will give you just an audio file to add into your video.
Now that your narration is recorded, you can start to add in the videos, music and titles. Make sure the videos match to what you are talking about and are relevant to your video. The music you add in show have the levels lowered in order to have your voice be the main audio. Then add in your title slide and credits as you have done for all videos
HOW TO ADD IN VIDEOS
Make sure video is edited well and all cuts are clean. Feel free to add in a few transitions
