How to Get the Best Audio

When filming a news story, it is important to capture good audio.  Without good audio, the story will suffer and the viewers will tune out.  For the first week of class you will learn how to choose the right microphone to capture the audio and how to make sure levels are even during editing.

Activity: Get a camera and test out the different microphones available in class.  Interview 3 different people. Each one should be a different microphone. After the interviews are complete, each person will put their interviews into Premiere to edit and adjust the audio.  Videos will be exported and turned in.
