Pioneers in Film/TV
In this assignment, students will create their own video podcast on a famous pioneer in TV/Film. Students will work in a group of 2/1 to create a presentation and then record the presentation. The final video will be turned in to Padlet and possibly uploaded to YouTube.
Watch the video below to learn a little about how inventors started on the journey to invent a camera and movies.
Click on the button below to see the topics to choose from. Write your name next to the topic you choose. The maximum number of people that can sign up for a topic is 2. Once 2 people have signed up no one else can pick that topic. The people that sign up for a topic will work together to create the podcast over zoom or through screen recording. If you are working with a partner, you will sign up together
Next, one person creates a Canva Presentation and shares/edits with the people working with them. Assign each person a section of the presentation to complete. Do your research and put all info into your own words. I will be checking for plagiarism. Make sure to have an image or video on every slide. Please include the source for the image/video on the slide. The information you collect will all be done verbally - take notes
Slides should have an intro slide to the topic including the people giving the presentation. After that each slide (8 minimum) should just have an image relating to what you are speaking about - no text unless just a header. The last slide should be the works cited.
Now record your podcast. Using Canva, click the 3 dots on the right side and choose Present and Record. Then click go to the recording studio. It will then ask permission to use the camera and microphone. Please click allow. Then in the middle of the screen, it will show the camera and mic you are using. Click on the camera option and change to none/use the audio recording. Then click record and read your notes/script as you advance through the slides. This can be done here at school but will have some background noise. A limited amount of students can record in other locations if neccessary.
This is my example below. I have included my slide presentation, my notes and the final video I recorded with Zoom
Make sure the images match what you are talking about. You will watch each others videos once they are completed. Make sure all info and images are school appropriate.
