Use AI for ideas, your camera for creativity, and your vision to tell the story.
Think globally. Shoot intentionally. Tell a story.

Step 1: Choose a Country
Select one country you’re interested in learning more about. This country will inspire your entire photo series, so choose one with strong colors, symbols, and culture you can visually represent.

Step 2: Research the Culture
Research your country’s flag, colors, foods, landmarks, traditions, and symbols. Think about what visually represents this place and how those ideas can be shown through objects, materials, and color in a photograph.

Step 3: Plan Your Photos (AI for Ideas)
Use AI responsibly to brainstorm prop ideas, photo setups, and symbolic objects. AI helps you think creatively, but all photos must be planned and taken by you. Create a clear plan before you start shooting.

Step 4: Take Your Photos
Use the correct settings for the lighting, and take several photos of each set up.
-
Travel Photos - Create a travel-style photo that includes a backpack to suggest exploration. This image should feel like a moment from a journey and use composition and depth of field intentionally.
-
Flat Lay Photos - Take a top-down flat lay photo using objects that represent your country. Arrange items carefully to create balance, organization, and visual interest.
-
Still Life Photos - Create a still life using 3–5 meaningful objects. Focus on lighting, texture, and emphasis to make your subject stand out and tell a clear visual story.
-
Flag Representation Photos - Recreate your country’s flag using paper, fabric, or found materials. Pay attention to color accuracy and layout. Printed flags are not allowed—this must be creatively constructed.

Step 8: Edit & Refine
Edit your photos to improve brightness, contrast, color, and composition. Keep edits realistic and focused on enhancing your original image.

Step 9: Reflect & Submit
Write an artist statement explaining your country choice, photo ideas, camera settings, and design decisions. Submit your four final images and reflection together.
