Fast Shutter Speed

LT: I can use a fast shutter speed to capture things in action.

Analogy for Understanding: Using a fast shutter speed is like taking a high-speed "snapshot" of a race car. If you blink slowly, you see a streak of color (slow shutter/blur); if you could blink at 1/1000th of a second, you would see every individual bolt on the wheel and the texture of the tire as if the car were standing perfectly still
How To Use Fast Shutter Speed
Students will learn how to change the shutter speed of the camera

As previously learned, shutter speed is how fast the camera opens and closes. A fast shutter speed will capture things in action and freeze motion.

First, students will practice taking photos to capture action. Then they will complete a final project based on the requirements listed in class. Students will also learn how to use high-speed continuous shutter mode.
If weather and time permit, students will take photos of popping water balloons.
