How to Get the Best Audio

When filming a news story, it is important to capture good audio.  Without good audio, the story will suffer and the viewers will tune out.  For the first week of class you will learn how to choose the right microphone to capture the audio and how to make sure levels are even during editing.​

Activity: Get a camera and test out the different classroom microphones.  Ask 3 different people your 1st assigned question from the list with the handheld mic.  When finished come back to the room to get the wireless mic and ask 3 new people your 2nd question. Next, you will use a lapel mike to ask 3 more people question #3 on your list.  After the interviews are complete, each person will put their interviews into Premiere to edit and adjust the audio.  Videos will be exported and turned in.

Editing your Video

Students will learn how to use canva to create their video for the first few projects.  There are templates in Classroom to get students started.  One person will need to import the videos to the computer by plugging the computer in​
