3D Modeling/Printing/Animating
Modeling Skills
Create Holes With Booleans

Project Overview:
In this project, you will learn how to transform a 2D vector graphic into a fully realized 3D environment using Blender. Over the course of four quick steps, you will import an SVG file, extrude it to add depth, and build a complete scene around it. To finish the assignment, you will set up a professional camera and lighting angle, culminating in a final high-quality PNG render of your 3D artwork.
What You Will Learn:
-
Part 1: Importing and extruding an SVG file to create a 3D image.
-
Part 2: Rotating your 3D asset and adding a ground plane to establish your scene.
-
Part 3: Setting up a camera and configuring lighting for optimal composition.
-
Part 4: Rendering your final scene into a high-quality PNG image.
Start the process by choosing a 2D Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG) file using the button below. Choose an image that has an outline, multiple colors, and multiple parts. Then use the video below to learn how to import the .SVG file into Blender, turning a flat 2D shape into a 3D model by using the geometry settings to extrude the shapes.
Step 1 - SVG File Import & Extrude
In Step 2, learn how to rotate the SVG and add in a plane mesh to build your scene.
