Making a Basic Game with Slime Sprites

LT: I can add my sprite to my game. I can use Unity. I can make my sprite move.

In this project, students will use the sprite they created and add movement to the sprite. The other sprites created will then become obstacles for the sprite to avoid.

Start the Project

LT: I can add my sprites to the project window.

Create the Player Sprite

LT: I can add in a sprite to become the player

Change Camera View

16 x 16 or 32 x 32 tiles are standard but can be any size based on the look you are trying to achieve. Anything larger and some of the pixelation starts to go away.

Create a Border

Create a game area for your character to move around in.

Create Enemies

In this step, we will add in obstacles for our character to move around.

Add in Collectibles

LT: I can make a collectible.

6. BUILD THE GAME

LT: I CAN CREATE A WEBGL BUILD

AS IN OTHER GAMES, CREATE THE BUILD OF THE GAME AS A WEBGL TO BE READY TO PUBLISH ONLINE

7. PUBLISH THE GAME

LT: I CAN PUBLISH MY GAME TO THE WEB

PUBLISH THE GAME TO UNITY PLAY AND TURN IN

8. SCREEN RECORD 

LT: I CAN SCREEN RECORD MY GAME

PLAY YOUR GAME WHILE RECORDING THE SCREEN.  WHILE THE RECORDING IS GOING, TALK ABOUT HOW YOU MADE YOUR GAME.  TURN IN THE RECORDING WHEN FINISHED.
